My approach

Collect clothes

To facilitate the collection of clothes for both the homeless in Kansas City and Victims affected by the LA Fires, we are encouraging donations through our website. Participants can either drop off items at designated locations or contact us to arrange for pickup from their preferred location.

Drop-Off Location: We have established convenient drop-off points across Kansas City & Los Angeles making it easy for anyone to contribute.

Pickup Service: For those unable to travel, our members are available to collect clothing directly from donors’ homes or businesses.

By spreading the word through social media and word of mouth, we aim to engage the community in this important initiative over the next few months. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need.

My Why

Donation Occasion was born out of a life-changing experience on my 20th birthday, October 13th, a Friday the 13th. Two days prior, I had a dream where God called me to collect clothes for the homeless, but I ignored the message and focused on celebrating myself. On the morning of my birthday, after a fresh haircut, I was involved in a head-on car crash—a wake-up call that reminded me of my true purpose. From that day forward, I committed to dedicating my birthday to giving back to the homeless. For the past 7 years, Donation Occasion has been my way of honoring that calling and serving those in need, creating a legacy of love, service, and purpose.

What We Do

At Donation Occasion, we collect gently used clothes, shoes, and accessories from individuals who no longer need them and distribute them directly to the homeless. Our mission is to provide warmth, dignity, and hope to those in need, one donation at a time. We accept clothing for all seasons and all ages, ensuring no one is left behind. In addition to our annual October 13th event, we extend our reach through efforts like the LA Relief Campaign, raising online awareness to collect monetary donations that allow us to expand our impact. Whether you’re donating items, contributing financially, volunteering, or spreading the word, your support helps us turn compassion into action and make a lasting difference for those in need.
